Boys Playoffs Format and Procedures
MAY 17 DEADLINE FOR REGULAR SEASON GAMES & POST GAME REPORTS:
- All regular-season games must be played by Saturday, May 17
- ALL Post Game Reports MUST be submitted by 11 pm on May 17.

- Any game's Post-Game Report NOT submitted by 11 p.m. on May 17 will not count toward the final regular season standings and Power Rankings.

PLAYOFFS
- Every team will play in a single-elimination post-season bracket tournament, either the Championship Bracket or the Best of the Rest Bracket
- See below for the number of teams for each division that will make the Championship Bracket
- Power Rankings determine final standings for bracket placement.
- Power Rankings determine playoff seeding for Championship Brackets
- Best of the Rest Brackets: MYL will use Power Rankings as a guide for seeding, but may adjust to provide closer travel for first-round games.
- Playoff Brackets will be announced Monday night, May 19.
- 7/8 Championship Games are at Jordan Field at Harvard University
- 7/8 D1 - Thursday, June 12 @ 7:45pm
- 7/8 D2 - Thursday, June 12 @ 6:00pm
- 7/8 D3 - Tuesday, June 10 @ 7:45pm
- 7/8 D4 - Tuesday, June 10 @ 6:00pm
- 5/6 Championship Games are at the Higher Seed
- Games should be played on June 12
- Communicate with the opponent and potential future opponents to schedule games as soon as possible.
- Any disputes between teams regarding scheduling a game will go to the Select Committee for a decision on when and where the game will be played.
Boys 5/6 and 7/8 Best of the Rest Brackets
- Higher seed in each match-up will host, including the championship game
- Rounds should follow the Championship Bracket timeline
- Championship Games should be played by June 13
- Coaches should communicate and work together to schedule games
Boys 7/8 D1 Playoff Structure (12 teams)
· All 12 teams will play in the Championship Bracket
· Seeds 1-4 get a bye to the Quarterfinals
· The 4 first round games (5v12, 6v11, 7v10 and 8v9) must be played by Wed, May 28
· Seeds 1-4 will host the Quarterfinal games (preferably on Fri, May 30, ok to host May 29, June 2, or 3)
· Semi-Finals should be hosted on Fri, June 6 (ok to host on June 5, 9, or 10)
· Finals on June 12 @ Jordan Field at 7:45 pm
Boys 7/8 D2 Playoff Structure (20 teams)
· Top 12 Ranked Teams will play in the Championship Bracket
· Teams Ranked 13-20 will play in the Best of the Rest Bracket
· Champ Bracket:
- Seeds 1-4 get a bye to the Quarterfinals
- The 4 first round games (5v12, 6v11, 7v10 and 8v9) must be played by Wed, May 28
- Seeds 1-4 will host the Quarterfinal games on Fri, May 30 (ok to host May 29, June 2, or 3)
- Semi-Finals will be hosted by the higher seed in each match-up on Fri, June 6 (ok to host on June 5, 9, or 10)

Boys 7/8 D3 Playoff Structure (15 teams)
· The top 8 ranked teams will play in the Championship Bracket
· Teams ranked 9-15 will play in the Best of the Rest Bracket
· Champ Bracket:
o Seeds 1-4 will host the Quarterfinal games on Fri, May 30 (ok to host May 27, 28, 29, June 2 or 3)
o Semi-Finals will be hosted by the higher seed in each match-up on Fri, June 6 (ok to host on June 5 or 9)
o Finals on June 10 @ Jordan Field at 7:45 pm
Boys 7/8 D4 Playoff Structure (9 teams)
· All 9 teams will play in the Championship Bracket
· Teams seeded 1-7 receive a bye to the Quarterfinals
· Teams 8v9 will play in first round, hosted by 8 seed. Must be played by Wed, May 28
· Teams Seeded 1-4 will host the Quarterfinal games on Fri, May 30 (ok to host May 29, June 2, or 3)
· Semi-Finals hosted by the higher seed in each match-up on Fri, June 6 (ok to host on June 5 or 9)
· Finals on June 10 @ Jordan Field at 6:00 pm
Boys 5/6 D1 Playoff Structure (11 teams)
· All 11 teams will play in the Championship Bracket
· Seeds 1-5 receive a bye to the Quarterfinals
· Seeds 6v11, 7v10, and 8v9 will play in the first round, with the higher seed hosting. Games must be played by Wednesday, May 28
· Seeds 1-4 will host the Quarterfinal games on Fri, May 30 (ok to host May 29, June 2, or 3)
· Semi-Finals hosted by the higher seed in each match-up on Fri, June 6 (ok to host on June 5, 9, or 10)
· Finals hosted by higher seed on June 12 (ok to host June 11, 13, 16, or 17)
Boys 5/6 D2 Playoff Structure – (16 teams)
· The top 8 ranked teams will play in the Championship Bracket
· Teams ranked 9-16 will play in the Best of the Rest Bracket
· Champ Bracket:
o Seeds 1-4 will host the Quarterfinal games on Fri, May 30 (ok to host May 27, 28, 29, June 2 or 3)
o Semi-finals will be hosted by the higher seed in each match-up on Fri, June 6 (ok to host on June 5, 9, or 10)
o Finals hosted by higher seed on June 12 (ok to host June 11, 13, 1,6 or 17)

o Seeds 1-4 get a bye to the Quarterfinals

Game Operations Reminders For Playoffs:
- Boys Select Games MUST consist of four 10-minute start/stop time quarters
- The Home Team must provide
- A visible scoreboard
- Scorers table, scoreboard, and timing devices for the game and penalties
- Minimum 2 people to run the clock, scoreboard, and penalty times.
- Adequate game balls and end line balls.
- Pylons or cones to clearly mark boundaries, midfield/restraining lines, substitution box.
- There is overtime in the Select League Playoffs
- 4-minute sudden-death overtime periods until a goal is scored. First goal wins.
- BOTH Teams Must Submit a Post-Game Report for EVERY GAME
- Scores are not official until a post game report is submitted by both teams.
